Apple banking on Verizon deal to compete with Android
As we’ve all heard, Verizon is finally going to push Apples iPhone. There is no real surprise that Verizon will push the Apple product with major marketing muscle.Reports have been made that the largest wireless provider in the US is going to advertise the iPhone to a larger degree than the android phones. Indeed advertisements are expected to come at the expense of other smart phones like BlackBerry and Google’s Android. We don’t have to look very far to notice that Verizon is majorly invested in the iPhone. On its homepage, Verizon is highlighting the iPhone and the iPad as their main products with little else in sight.
When Verizon began selling the iPad the company was very aggressive in their marketing campaign as opposed to AT&T which had barely had commercials devoted solely on the iPad. At the very end of the spectrum when iPhone was not on Verizon, the company pushed android products aggressively.
Android will now face a brand new marketing war. Curiosity looms in seeing how many customers switch from AT&T to Verizon as well as, how many android users will switch to iPhone.
It also seems that this technical deal has taken 6 to 9 months to finalize. It is obvious that Apple is banking on its new deal with Verizon to directly compete with Google android. Who will win this war? The answer awaits.
